G9 mouse owners... have you been able

to get the setpoint software to work well with your Windows 7 RC 7100 x64 OS?

It works a treat for me but it does not change to my Game Profile when I start any of the games. I thought it was Vegas 2 the problem since it was the worst (read: unfinished/unoptimized) console ported game ever made but I have had the same issues now with CoD4 & Crysis Warhead.

Now, changing it manually works on all the games (except for Vegas of course!) but it just won't do it automatically.

Asking this question sounds familiar so sorry if I have another post going on.

Thanks vapor, I would really appreciate it. I know it must be me because I have only heard good things about this mouse.

The fact that I am dual booting with Vista x64 & Win 7 x64 shouldn't be a problem but, I have a feeling there is something there... can't quiet put my finger on it though.

As it is right now, I don't have any software installed for the mouse on my Vista OS but still, I can't get the G9 to automatically switch to a game and I don't see an option to Tick or Untick to do so. the only one I see if the default one to set Manually or Automatically and I have to set it on Manual due to the fact that it won't change when set to auto.

Does the G9 have on board memory for it's profiles / settings etc?

I know that with my Razer Lachesis, if I install the razer software on two OS'es, it stops the programmable buttons from working in games on the first OS that razer s/w was installed on.

With the software installed and configured on one OS only, the buttons work perfectly in both OS'es

It should work if you go to the profile manager and make sure it's set to "Switch profiles automatically using application detection" and then make sure your games are on the list by using the "import" button.

Yes it does have Onboard Profiles...

That is exactly what mine is doing, to the "T". It makes no sense though, I am using 2 different partitions so it shouldn't interfere.

I have tried that as but, if I leave it there, I have to hit Alt+Tab when inside the game's Main Menu in order to get back to the desktop, open up Setpoint and manually switch the profile to "Game Profile". At least, leaving it on Manually, I can change it when I want to.

That dual booting must be the problem but those inept guys at Logitech do not want to help at all and I really don't care to push the issue since I am dual booting and using a Beta OS.

i just got a LX8 recently. similar to yours (just cheaper, and not as fancy ) it appears the same problems will probably occur with my mouse too. havent used it on 7 yet (hhd issues). logitech says that 7 support is very limited, but im hoping for the best.

good luck Astalavista. as its almost the same hardware/software, if i come across any fixes (for mine), i'll be sure to post em. and hopefully they'll help you too.

Lately it seems like even the right answer isn't good enough.
