I played the demo last night. It was ok; to me it was classic Mass Effect once you get the hang of the controls. I wasn't quite blown away by the graphics; in fact they didn't look any different than they did in ME1.

Bear in mind though that this is a very short demo so I'd keep an open mind about the final product. Looks intriguing though.

Anyway I'm not so sure I’ll be getting it on release day as I'll be starting classes the same day but I'm definitely getting it when I have time to play as I’m a huge Mass Effect fan.

    Later.

pretty much, controls are the same and the UI is the same, i'm uploading a video of the intro and gameplay as I type this, it's going to take 100 minutes to upload to youtube though.

I can't even begin to describe my hatred for Origin. Launching a game through my web browser is incredibly asinine. Especially when I have 2 profiles and my default profile doesn't work with origin. I end up having to manually login to the website instead of the origin login because it launches my default browser. End rant.

That's gonna be a "Hello No" for me. I tried playing BF3 through Origin and the program is even worse than Steam. Not gettin' my money. EA sucks.

You say "worse that Steam" like Steam is actually bad. Nevermind...

I knew ME3 wasn't going to be anything special, despite the first trailer. Just wait till you see the god-awful storyline. You will regret spending money on the first two games AND backing up your savegames for this piece of crap. And I'm not trollin' here, my gut says this will be a pretty similar case as was with Dragon Age 2. I don't even need to see/play the demo to know this.
Bioware is pretty much gone to oblivion because of EA, so no, you should NOT support them, or install Origin, or play this game at all. I know I probably won't.

When Dragon Age 2 demo was released, I already knew what to expect, as I was closely following the development. After playing the demo, my opinion didn't change in the slightest. Same thing with the final product.

Mass Effect 3 won't be any different. At least for me, of course.

Gonna have to agree with you on this. My gut's tellin' me this won't be that great of a game. Bioware has gone into the toilet all thanks to EA. I'm really startin' to hate EA these days. 'Specially since I'm gonna need Origin with every new game of theirs, and I refuse to even touch Origin a second time.

yeah, carrying on the off-topic anti-origin theme, i noticed the other day that i had an extra game in my origin list of 'my games'. need for speed:hot pursuit suddenly arrived on 10th feb, wanting me to hit the download button.

now, i've not bought need for speed on origin, the only games i've had on origin in the past are bf3 and bc2 BUT i did buy need for speed on steam, over a year ago, long before i installed origin.

anyway, so origin has been poking around my hard-drives and has looked through my steam collection, reported home and has added n4s to my origin list.

strangely it hasn't found other EA titles in my steam collection - yet.

what else is it looking at on my drives?
