    voice chat

I can't seem to find the answer definitively. In COD MW3 MP, does voice chat communicate only with team members or does it just broadcast to everyone. If that's the case what's the point of voice chat. Shouldn't it be used for team coordination?

I've never used any of the voice chat features in any of the cod games, and to be honest, I've yet to come across anyone that does, most people use teamspeak or ventrilo :-/

I used some of the built in voice chat with a few games but found that the clarity is sub par at best. I opt to use skype.

As to your question: I really don't know...but I would venture a guess and say no. Just to the members of the team.

My microphone jack started generating noise so I'm not going to use it. I'll just type chat if I want to communicate to others.

Is your mic jack a 3.5 mm jack? If so, you have a few choices. Try a different pair of headsets with mic and see if your mic jack is still producing static. If not, it's the headset, if it still presits, you've confirmed its the jack. Then either replace the case or mobo depending on where you plug in....extreme and not cost effective. The other alternative it to use one of those usb/3.5 mm adapters. I've seen them at my local WalMart for about $20....could be worth it.

Just came to me...look inside the case...could be a bad connection from front panel to mobo or something pushing on the front panel connection just enough to cause your issue. I've heard tale of it some where...just can't place it.

The noise went away after I disabled the onboard and sound card mic. I then re-enabled the sound card mic and the noise was not their, but the crappy mic I have is probably not working. As I can here some sound come out of my speakers, but in game no body hears me. Either that or they are ignoring me. The voice setting in the game shows sound going into the mic. It's not that important since I can't really team chat in the way I would prefer and it just goes out to everybody. Kinda defeats the purpose of covert strategy.
