(unless of course they're not available on steam ) and Im curious as to what you mean about "spies" and such. i've used their services for the past 4 years, making multiple online purchases, and never had any id theft issues of any sort. to each his own, i guess.

back to the subject. what would you folks, who've played Wolfenstien, rate it overall?
on a scale of 1 to 10.
i, only test ran it for a little while, so i dont really have an opinion of the game.
When seeing the Orange Box activated instantly to one account when wanting that on a new one they gave me the shaft by making the first account useless when simply making an inquiry! The login info they emailed was useless! When buying a second disk later I ended reinstalling Vista at the time preparing to test 7. That wouldn't reinstall and kept coming up with the duplicate cd error!

With a game that simply installs to the drive or even runs from the disk with that in the drive and the need to reinstall Windows or in October upgrade out of the RCs I still can install those on a clean install and not worry about any of that crap!

If you run into that from not following through with the easy solution is simply to browse the game disk to the DX folder found there with quite a bit more cab files!
Actually, if you skip the DX installer there are just two files it looks to need. You can probably even just download them off the web and dump them in the program install folder and you should be fine, though they are in those cab files in the DirectX folder too in both x86 and x64 versions. They're going to be:

d3dx9_39.dll AND
xinput1_3.dll

And those little "smoldering" areas are totally normal. Get deeper into the game and you'll understand what they are. And you'll also backtrack so those exact ones will be of use again.

Did you install it with admin rights to begin with? I usually don't let the autorun, erm, well, run, instead, I go to the executable and right click on it using "Install with Admin rights"... this way I make sure it was done correctly.

Another thing that maybe but perhaps is less logic for the problem you are having is, if you did not install Directx, it may have caused problems.

While this may be fine for the PC gurus, we mere mortals prefer not having to bother with, yet, another hurdle to jump and will simply endure the extra minute or two that it takes to do so

It's not only just a matter of dropping a few files into the system32 folder but the need for any registry values as well that point to them. It takes nothing to simply browse the disk for the DX folder to start with there.

For seifer85's problem the need to alter the compatibility mode or check off the run as admin isn't necessary when started from the Start>All Programs>Games>Wolfenstein folder there not from manually browsing the disk to start up the game. For the 64bit 7 install here I simply clicked on the install option and watched the various screens pass by amd then suddenly there was......

The game play for this obvious sequel and certainly much more updated is quite similar to the combination of Soldier of Fortune: Payback(SoF3) and BIOSHOCK for anyone familiar with both not just one or the other.

A few video clips on things look in this version can seen at http://www.gamewinners.com/Cheats/in...enstein:_Video
