Star Wars battlefront 2 Crashing problem

    i need some help, i have acer aspire 5742g window 7 home premium x64, with Nvidia geforce GT 420M, and realtek HD sound card

    i have followed every single detail on how to stop my laptop from crashing 2 mins into the game (turning off the sound did work) but i want to be able to hear the game, is there something im missing? all drivers are up to day including the graphics card and the sound card, the stereo mixer enabled, and all that, but it still isnt working, please help, i would love to play the game with sound

    I just remembered how I fixed this issue: plug in a microphone. Not sure where I read that but it fixed it for me even on Windows 8! I also got the latest video and audio drivers and set compatibility to XP SP3 in the process of my troubleshooting. Hope this helps you all

    This is as much juvenile as it is magic!

    Plug a jack into your microphone slot. Any jack.
    Enter audio hookups and enable hidden disabled ones like everyone says, and check for confirmation. Poof. Magic. Voila, it should work. Enjoy!

    Yes, as people have said before, the easiest way to fix the problem is to plug an extra set of headphones into your mic jack.
