Windows 7 games for windows live ...

Some games in the view games tab are shown on other player profiles and they seem to have an idintical game to me, how does one enable gfwl on a game that according to its online does support this?

iS this a platform limitation or can one enable gfwl on games that are meant to have such?
some games are on Xbox 360 and some are not, seeing as all xbox 360 games must be xbox live compatible and support achievements, they will be displayed on their gamertags, this is not the case with PC, some games have GFWL and others don't, it depends if the game has this logo on the box : Enable or add gfwl to a pc game...-img_3304.jpg

hope this clears up any confusion.

Yes it does clear things up a bit...I`m probably not the only one noticing that on my friends gamertags { and one can clearly see on witch platform} they have games witch I too have aswell, but myne dont show or have available and unlockable achievements...

Now this got me wondering if these games are on a diffrent platform should be irrelafent right, they do infact have the code to allow gfwl and above mentioned additions...

Then there has to be a way to just add it to a same game on the pc ...confirmed to have it on X~box 360...this anomaly...is this just a benifit for digital downloaded titles or Xbox360 titles?

At the end of the day not every one can obtain games like that and wont ever be able to...but still remain without these gfwl additions to thier very same game witch some others do have...!

I think this is very unfair` and I feel cheated if I've boght & played a game and did not get any achievements for it but others did, just becoz they got it on X~box or digitally downloaded it....
and just to clear things up on this ... paid the same for use as others, but I get less.!!!

iS there not a way to add gfwl additions to games retail purchased when running on Windows7...?
You'll find that most developers and publishers of games for PC don't like using GFWL because it means their content is getting a cut taken from them by Microsoft, whereas they can go with other gaming clients like steam or as an in game purchase for DLC for a lower cut and reap the profits for themselves, dirt 3 for example, codemasters usually use GFWL because they have a good relationship with Microsoft and get a deal because they are long standing developers with MS, but a company like EA use origin, their own gaming client, which enables them to make their own profits and use their own security measures online, also, the benefit of using MS GFWL client is that MS deal with the servers so they don't need to fork out extra for that, but some companies just find it more profitable to just use their own clients, there is no way to enable GFWL in any game that doesn't support it, there is however a list of games on Wikipedia which do have GFWL compatability and you can see which ones you can use to get achievements.

I see your point but you can't think of the same games as if they are on the same platform, they are just like ps3 and Xbox, you wouldn't see Xbox live and PSN on their counterpart consoles, same applies for PC, and contrary to popular belief, a majority of PC gamers hate the GFWL client, mainly because it uses too many resources, maybe one day there will be an option for it, but as of now, Microsoft don't control the software developers decisions on which clients to use on PC, hope this clarifies some confusion.

Assasins Creed and Far Cry are not GFWL titles.

You have "Games for Windows" and "Games for Windows Live" These are two different things

Games for Windows Live is a Digital distribution platform similar to Steam or Origin. It handles DRM, DLCs, as well as a ingame menu with Achievement support.

Heres a list of PC games that support the Games for Windows Live client:
    List of Games for Windows

The Games for Windows means that the particular game has met certain standards. Controller support, Widescreen Support, Windows Support etc. it simply means the game complies to MS standards for PC gaming.
These games may use another form of DRM or Achievement tracker. For instance, it may use Steam for both. Or, in the case of AC, UbiSofts uPlay.

    Apologies.

I think those are for Xbox live achievements. If you see these titles and achievements in a players profile, they probably have the Xbox version of the game.
Not all PC titles will have them.

As far as I know, you can not just add a game to GFWL and have it track achievements.
