    COD World at war CTD

I recently Installed CODWAW from the disc because i got bored of MW2, I updated the game up to 1.7 and it played fine, When I came back to it and tried to launch it it would load up to the selection screen and it would CTD, on a 2nd attempt it would not even make it that far, got annoyed and waited awhile and sure enough it worked again only to crash after exiting off and trying to play it again. the crash would state "a problem has caused this program to stop working" I opened event viewer and this is what it tells me about the crash:

Well i googled around a bit and found out that the error 0xc0000409 is caused by a corrupt registry. So what I would do is open up command prompt and type "sfc /scanow" without the quotations, you may be asked for the windows disk so have that prepared. Then uninstall the game and clean up the registry with ccleaner, then reinstall the game.

link to ccleaner if you don't already have it http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
