    Oblivion

I cannot get the 1.2.0146 patch to install. I get the "Not a valid win32 app." I am running Windows 7 in 64 bit. Anyone know of a fix?

I am going to start installing other games to see if I have any problems with them as well.

Thanks to anyone who looks here and answers!

is it the retail disk, or did you get it from Direct2Drive? there are 2 versions, hence 2 different patches, that need to be installed accordingly.

this may be a shot in the dark. i just read a thread (another site) that someone who downloaded the patch from bethesda (game site) had it fail, with the same error. then he/she downloaded the same patch from a mirror site. try this one.

apparently the error was due to the file not being downloaded completely, and saying it was. hope it helps.

Ill remember that link. But the issue I am having is I cant install Shivering Isles (Keeps locking up during the install of Voices.bsa). So I figured I would try the 1.2.0416 patch for the unexpanded game. No go. So i am kinda stuck playing just Knights of the nine and the FEW mods that are good without the 1.2.0416 patch.....almost not worth playing one of the best games ever......

I wont give up that easy though.....

I got it to work. I thank you all for your ideas.

I hade to go to Obvlivion website, Install the 1.2.0146 patch for vanilla Oblivion, then run the install for Knights of the Nine, then the install for Shivering Isles, and then finally the install of the 1.2.0146 patch for Shivering Isles.

I also got it to work by emulating XP in Windows 7...then still wasnt happy, and finally got it to install on 7.

    Just never say DIE!!!!!

yeah. Morrowind was the same way haha. it can be a pain in the butt to get the "install this THEN this" order right. it tends to mess everything up.

    glad you got it working.
