Trying to play large MMORPG, terrible quality.

Alright, so my specs are as follows:

    Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67 GHz | 2.67 GHz
    8.00 GB (Installed RAM)
    64-bit Operating System
    NVIDIA GeForce 310
Unknown Graphics Card (Can someone help me figure out where to find that)?

Alright, I'm fairly new to all of this, but here's the general scenario.

    - I used to do lots of online gaming and could run multiple "clients" (the application used to load and run the game) at the same time (in windows mode). I quit playing for quite some time, and stored my PC under my desk. Recently, I've come back to playing and something seems a tad askew. I've been trying to get back into the same game, but can barely operate one single client. It has extreme pixel-lag and it's bothersome trying to play when you die every other second because your game freezes. I hadn't had this problem previously, and I've tried all settings to get my client to better operate too.

I can barely run the client and one single page of Google Chrome. It's miserable. Any and all advice would be much appreciated. I've also heard that "overclocking" your RAM can help in certain situations such as this.

If you need any information, please get back to me as soon as possible. I'd be happy to take pictures or provide any missing parts. Thank you!

The GF 310 graphics card is not very powerful its a economy class gpu.. but if your game was running on same hardware before then problem is software.
    is that a laptop?
did you install all the updates for your drivers
in device manager under graphic adapters what do you see.
