Why won't any decent games run on my laptop?

    Hi everyone,

I'm talking about games in general such as CoD, FarCry, etc. They never seem to work. I have a decent laptop, and I'm not willing to fork out thousands for a normal computer after been robbed twice this year.

    The computer:

    Acer Aspire 5750,
    Windows Seven Home Premium, x64.
640GB space (with 512GB free now).
    4GB memory (HDD).

    Intel Core i5-2410M 2.3GHz
With Turbo Boost up to 2.9GHz

Is it something to do with my graphics?
I've being told that Intel is the reason why they never work.
But I'd like some professional opinions. I'm willing to replace graphics, etc.
But buying a new computer is not really an option at the moment.

    Hi,
Personally I believe it is everything to do with the graphics arrangement, unless it is specifically designed and sold as a gaming laptop, which would have cost considerably more than what you have, it's not going to do very good on newer games.

If your trying to run on high with the highest resolution then that's is the problem because you have Intel HD Graphics 3000 which is a integrated gpu. That doesn't leave much room although I think you be able to possibly play on low-mid in say like cod 4, if your trying to play something like say on high settings with all the AA upped then your integrated gpu is going to choke. You could play cod but on lower settings take a look at this video of someone else using your laptop to play cod black ops and bf3 but at low-mid settings,So I know by the vids it's capable of playing some games but just lower the settings and resolution and you should have a semi playable game play.Pretty good for a lappy imo. Also make sure all your drivers are up to date if you haven't done that yet.

Yes intel HD is the problem, And you can't improve it with a diffrent graphics card, Because it's integrated. Sorry.

But I know a good computer that im getting for 984$ or 643euro approx.

So it's not that expensive and can run bf3 on mid crysis on mid/high every thing else high/ultra.

    I reccomend looking on ibuypower.

When you get the money some there you choose the parts to make it cheaper and not into the thousands.

As others have said, it's all about the graphics. Unless you get a high end gaming laptop with really solid gaming video cards...the performance on a laptop isn't going to be very good. This is why I always recommend getting a gaming desktop (as they are much cheaper) and then an average run of the mill laptop for portability. Between the 2, you will often spend less than you would on a dedicated gaming laptop.
