Fallout 3 Crash Problem (I have tried nearly everything)

Hi, I wanted to ask because I am getting seriously pissed off at this, but my problem is that FO3 keeps crashing on steam. I bought the steam version of GOTY because it was on sale for £10, although the problem is that it keeps crashing, I have tried every fix possible but still doesn't fix it. Is there any other ways to help me? Thanks.

    System Specs:

    GPU: ATI HD 6770
    CPU: i3 550 quad core 3.20ghz
    RAM: 8 gig ddr3
    OS: Windows 7 64 bit.
Native Screen res: 1600x1200, Gaming res though is 1400x900 or 1280x960

Everything stops moving, it's like a freeze that lasts forever.

    and if you use the
CTRL + SHIFT + ESC key combo do you get to the Windows Task Manager?

    If you:
    WIN | type Resmon.exe | ENTER
then do you get to the resource monitor?

WIN=key with microsoft logo on top.

    Next time it hangs,
run resmon.exe and go to the CPU tab.

Do you see an entry in RED there?
If yes, right-click on the entry and choose Analyze Wait Chain.
    Keep going down the chain.
When you get to end of chain then choose to end that process.
Take a note of the process and also see if you are then "unhung"

The game runs at like 100 - 150 - 200 fps before the crash. :/
