    DirectX 3D acceleration not available?!

When I go to dxdiag, on the display tab, it says direct 3D acceleratoin: Not available. And I need to enable it for a game. I googled but still can't fix the problem, so please help.
Another weird thing that might have something to do wiht the problem: In the device manager, when I open Display adapters section, there is one item called "Standard VGA graphics adapter", and my graphics card is ATI Radeon Mobility 5650, which is not shown there.

Have you tried updating the drivers?

    Hi there jszl,

The moniker "Standard VGA graphics adapter" in your Device Manager indicates that the card is using the generic Windows supplied drivers that allows only the most basic functionality for your card (displaying 2d desktops).

I recommend that since your using a HP laptop with a Mobility Radeon card (like my own card), you should get the latest AMD produced drivers for notebook cards from their website and not the HP advisor (which would most likely be outdated by this point..)

Or easier still here're the latest 12.6 WHQL certified AMD drivers from the Guru3D forums (a respectable source for 3d drivers and benchmarking software)...

EDIT:- Oops looks like you solved the problem on your own... Congratulations!

32bit drivers:- (AMD Catalyst 12.6 WHQL 32-bit download from Guru3D.com)
64bit drivers:- (AMD Catalyst 12.6 WHQL 64-bit download from Guru3D.com)
