    Microsoft Arcade

I came across my old Microsoft Arcade game software. The box is labeled Microsoft Home and the system requirements are MS-DOS 3.2 or later and Windows 3.1 or later. Asteroids, Centipede, etc are on a 3" floppy disc. It's obviously been a long time since I've played these. And I think I have Pac-Man and others stored away somewhere.

What does it take to play these on Windows 7? Will they work if I install the virtualization and XP mode software? Or do I need to go back to an earlier version of Windows?

IIRC Tetris worked on my old XP PC. I happened to have that one backed up on my external HDD so it was easy to try on the Win 7 PC, but it does not work.

Any suggestions what, if anything, it takes to play the MS Arcade games?

If it works on DOS, use DOSbox: DOSBox, an x86 emulator with DOS

I looked at DosBox before & it had a list of programs that worked & did not work. I did not see any of the ones that I had mentioned in either list.

My friend just tried Tetris on his XP PC and it works. I have an XP PC, sort of. I stripped all the parts out of a Dell PC case & used the case for an HTPC. I guess I'll lay the XP stuff out on a table & plug everything back together & see what games work.

Just because it ain't on the list, doesn't mean it won't work. Just try it first of all, and if it doesn't work, we'll move on from there.

    Old Arcade Games

Here is a version of Tetris that works in Win 7. At least it is working for me.

    Tetris (Gorgeous version of Tetris)

    For Pac Man

    Pacman 2005 : The game

To Get Pac Man to work correctly I had to load it on my C: (OS) disk.

If you have 64 bit the original arcade wont work if you have 32 bit it might work. If either one of those don't work try XP mode.
