How to get Minecraft SP to run x64 Java?

    Hello.

For the last few weeks in rarely touching minecraft, whenever I did, I'd get an "Out of Memory!!" Error message and quit the game. Well, I detected that I was playing Minecraft SP on Java 32 bit, when I have a x64 OS. I tried downloading and installing x64 Java but it made no difference. I tried uninstalling the x86 version but when I opened Minecraft it gave me an error saying that it was missing some files prior to me uninstalling the x86 version of Java 7. I looked at a few youtube videos but none have helped.

So does anyone have a fix for this?

    Regards,
    -TPS

That kept happening to me too, I suggest completely reinstalling java (that's what I did) and post back here,

Jemjem, I did that at least 8 times before doing a system restore on it and looking up on youtube.

I tried that at least 5 times, but even so it didn't work out.

E: I got the problem fixed using Magic Launcher, so yeah. Thanks for help all.

Are you sure you have 64bit Java installed? Just wondering, because unless you used let's say 64bit Internet Explorer that is built in to your OS then you won't get the 64bit version of Java.

Other than asking on the official MC forums then i don't know other than what i have suggested. Hope you get it sorted :)

I have the 64Bit Version of Java installed. But I am using Google Chrome, which i'm told is a 32 Bit browser. Does that change anything?

I'm pretty sure it would, have you tried downloading minecraft? I heard that you get better FPS while on the desktop client.
