    Low FPS in CS:S

This has to be the only problem i have with 7 other than that its perfect.

i get low FPS in CS and i cant figure out why.

    here is my specs.

    Celeron 352 (D) 3.2 GHz

    2.5 GB of Ram

    512MB 8600 GT with 186 drivers

    and Windows 7 build 7260.

i around 30-40 on recommended settings, on xp i got 80-100.

is there something im doing wrong? also i was thinking of upgrading my gcard soon, do i have to worry about my cpu giving me low fps?

I get about the same percentage in fps drop as you. I've seen where a lot of people running Vista boot back into XP to play games. Window 7 may be the same but I only play 1 game so I'm no authority.

A lot of us have been seeing a drop in fps on some games.
This maybe due to Win7 still being a RC and all drivers are not final yet.
The only thing I can suggest it make sure you have all current drivers for your video, nic, mobo, and sound card.
I dont know why but I have been seeing the old sound card drivers slow down a lot of source games, guess they still have some fine tuning on drivers before we see the fps that we did in XP but please remember XP is seven years old so they have had time to tweak those drivers to preform the best on the system by the time Win 7 is RTM they will have great support and divers so we should see the same fps that we are use too.

look through and match up all the settings in the "Video" area under Options... I saw similar problem in Vista when I was used to XP settings.... ends up in Vista it automatically had everything set as high as it would go (16x MSAA, 8x AF)... as soon as I matched the settings it worked fine... although a drop in FPS was still expected... I have not had a chance to compare Vista and W7 yet...
