Windows 7 Game Compatibility List

Sam & Max: Season 1 plays fine

GTA IV is working fine on windows 7 x64.
Fifa 2010 is working fine on both windows 7 x32 and x64.
COD: Modern Warfare 2 is working fine on windows 7 x32, haven't tried it on windows 7 x64 yet.
AOE 2 is working fine on both windows 7 x32 and x64.

Chronicles of Spellborn: HACKING REQUIRED

When you install, and try to play, it doesn't work. There is some sort of GameGuard error.


For some reason there is an incorrect file that is installed for GameGuard. You have to get a working 'GameGurad.des' file. Then copy/replace it into the following folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\The Chronicles of Spellborn\bin\client

You can find the file if you install the game, "Crossfire".
Or you can download it from here: GameGuard.des

It should work fine. Just be sure to restart the computer because you might not be able to log in.

Windows 7 Professional, x64:

Anno 1404 (EU, in the US it is called Dawn of Discovery): works flawlessly.
Torchlight: works flawlessly.
Nexuiz: works flawlessly. (This one's open-source, but of commercial quality.)

Area 51 works but must be set to XP SP2 compatibility mode to run. This is the freeware download version released by the US Air Force, not a retail copy.

Barkley Shut Up & Jam GAIDEN works, but you'll need to go into settings and sqitch to full screen mode, otherwise text is jagged.

Windows 7 Professional, x86, RTM (7600.16385)

Game: Left 4 Dead 2
Works: Perfectly.

Modern Warfare 2 works fine now. They released a patch fixed the freeze-at-logon issue for 7 and Vista.
