Sorry, not very fond of Steam so I don't know anything about but, here's a bump for you in hopes that others will lend a hand.

OK, first off, Check if you have the folder "C:\Program Files\Steam". If you've got it, try this:
    1. Remove the folder "C:\Program Files\Steam" if you have it.
    2. Turn off your AntiVirus and UAC.
    3. Right-click on the installer, and select "Run as administrator".

Does the installer get further this time?
Tell me how you get on!
    Thanks!

Asta, we all know you hate Steam so if you can't help the OP why are you posting here? It's kind of rude of you doing this.

    Good suggestion DanRex.

sygnus, I am going to have to beg your pardon but I don't see it that way... this is how I see it:

The post was a bit buried at the time I found it, zero replies, I bump the thread back up by posting to it even though I have no positive answer for his problem... how is that rude or offensive to the op?

If it was my post and it was buried with zero post, I would Thank a Bump up... I guess I am wrong.
