You may not be able to use a Core 2 Duo.

That depends on the motherboard you have.

You have not told us about our motherboard. If it will not accept a Core 2 Duo, you would have to buy a new motherboard as well as a new processor.

And we don't know anything about your source for the parts so we can't really comment on prices.

The Core 2 Duo is better than a Pentium D for any purpose.

But, to repeat, we don't know if your motherboard will accept a Core 2 Duo processor.

Core 2 Duos were introduced 6 years ago. There are better processors available now.

What you should buy depends on your budget and your motherboard.

If you are willing to replace the motherboard, you can then choose from a wide variety of processors.

    That's 15,500 Pakistani Rupees?

    That's about 160 US dollars.

    What parts do you need?

    Where will you buy from?

It's hard to help for 2 reasons:

1: We don't know the prices for those parts in your country.

2: We don't know anything about your motherboard or whether you can use a Core 2 Duo 2.4 with that motherboard.

    Hi Welcome to Seven Forums.
To help us help you would you please add your systems specs? Here's how: System Info - See Your System Specs
Under System Manufacturer/Model Number add whether it is a desktop or laptop and whether self built.

Log in to Seven Forums and you will be able to transfer the info directly to the specs page in your profile from within the System Info app.
After doing this your specs will be available in each of your posts. Click on mine in the lower left to see how it should look.:)
    Full instructions in the tutorial.
