So... more of an Adventure game than a Shooter game then? Well, at least you're not fighting off Alien creatures like in the original FC... Dem things scared the crap out of me in certain scenes

Yes, something like that....from what I understand. I play "Adventurer" which I think equates to "Easy", but I haven't tried the other options, so not sure if its the same style, but just harder.
Haven't played Far Cry 3 yet , but i really enjoyed playing Far Cry 2 . The mission and gameplay was something different and engaging which i never experienced in any other FPS game .
Looking forward to play it in christmas vacation .
Have they gotten rid of being attacked every 5 metres you travel?
May grab it to play over Christmas. Have a feeling my 470 will be coming to the end of its days though. As I said in the SF Team thread, I'm tempted to get 470 SLI, but that means fannying around trying to get hold of a decent x58 mobo for SLI as the Sabertooth is shite. Grab the latest beta drivers for SLI support, too.
With this POS console port and everything I am hearing about SLI... I wouldn't even bother.
I am definitely getting old, I just want to be able to play a tactical game that is NOT an Adventure Game or a Rambo Game or a SciFi Game or Never-Seen-Before-Tech game, you know? just your average Tactical Shooter Game! Hell, if Ubisoft would be smart enough to come out with a Newer Graphics Ghost Recon, I would buy it in a heartbeat
I am sure that after all the patches and changes, I may pick it up from the bin bargain and enjoy the adventure of shooting an occasional baddie
Here is an idea - instead of listening to others and making up your mind that way - try it. You might be surprised.
SLI works. I've forced High Quality, crazy levels of AA and Transparency AA etc and 98.7% of time I am at 60 FPS.
And it's not a POS port. I've played POS ports, and this isn't one of them. It's not perfect, but it's a shit load better than some ports I've played.
In 'enemy held' areas, you will come across them a fair bit - but it is way less annoying than FC2. You can dispatch 'em pretty easy if need be anyway.
