fc2 was just run and gun really. I don't ever recall a point at which it reminded me of the bullet to the head out of nowhere you got from the original farcry. The stealth mechanic is why I like the new game. I only wish they had set up the co-op from the stand point that two survivors made it and let you play through a ramped up difficulty version of the full campaign. I really hate how they set up the co-op. The multiplayer problems are for once to ubisoft's credit being handled through patches that are coming almost daily it seems. As much as I hate uplay. I really wish ubisoft would just sell games on steam and then let them run on steam.

The game gets a bit repetitive but I gotta admit, it is fun to tackle it and the view is not bad at all... my little pet peeve is the fact that they called it Far Cry and that this is more of an Adventure game than a Shooter... very fun nonetheless.
(yes, I know it's a week old quote)
Yeah, it feels more repetitive than the first did, but from what I've played of it and the second (and a ridiculous amount of the first) FC3 seems a lot more of a spiritual successor to Far Cry than FC2 was. I'd like to say that it's not just because it's set on an island, but I fear that may be all that's influencing that thought
I played the Original FC more times than I care to admit, even with the creatures from hell that still give me nightmares and once I use cheats to gain all weapons and ammo, it was still more fun than before... I never used cheats the first few times I went through the whole thing though, but, it is a cool thing to have as it makes you do things you couldn't do before.

I can't remember if you were able to go all stealthly like but I do recall you could prone and snipe from a distance, something you can"t really do on FC3 w/o the enemy being alerted and immediately hone in on your position no matter how far away you are (I use the suppressor + high scope and I am usually as far away as possible), let alone FC2 (didn't even finished or cared to finished that turd ).

The little that I played FC3 I like, more so because of the view/scenery than anything else but, I would have enjoyed it even more if the game was ALL about shooting and me not having to pick flowers and stuff.

Hey, here's an idea for UBI's next FC game... make one adventure and one FPS only

It's a great game especially if you have the hardware to let it show off its graphics features. Several times I just stopped briefly to admire the view...

It would seem you have that hardware I had no trouble maxing it at 1080p with just a single 580gtx

I've captured a few outposts on the south island..

and also grabbed a crocodile skin for one of the animal quests
that was tough - only allowed to use a machete..

there's some great special weapons to acquire, as well..

I've done several james bond type jump from the moving car speeding at the explosive object moves.

It's fun using the car as a torpedo while you find cover...

I like the bow the most though. It's a skill weapon even with the sights you have to account for distance.
Fortunately it kills everything but the larger predators in one or two hits.
