Steam and 64Bit

I take it if I were to reinstall steam would it download a 64bit version if it along with all the game or will it be 32bit?

I have steam from buying unreal tournament 3 and from what I can tell its 32bit and it runs fine on my 64bit 7.

The Steam folder will be found in the "C:\Program Files9x86)" folder since it is 32bit. The 64bit Windows simply uses 32bit emulation in order to run 32bit games and programs.

steam is only 32-bit.

I'm presenting running FEAR2 which uses the Steam engine on the 64bit 7 RC without problems. The Steam part is only an IE type interface not the actual game itself there. That's simply a graphical menu type window apart from IE you use for looking at the games installed or their online store as well as logging onto your account.

steam makes my computer bluescreen. i'm running 7 Pro x64. i've kinda piggybacked my issue on this thread and would REALLY like to be able to play the orange box again. so any and all help is appreciated.

If i run windows 7 64 Bit can i install steam on a different drive so instead of installing it in "C:\Program Files(x86)" can i install steam in "E:\Steam" ?

yes :)

the way i do it is i have all of my games installed by steam on a different partition (F: ) and this has survived a vista install then 6 reinstalls using win7 beta and my current full version, I also access steam from my xp and vista installs from different partitions

In order to get it working again from any fresh OS install I simply point the new steam install at the same directory on the F: partition and once it's installed it finds my games and lists them on my installed game tab in steam
