I have FC3 and anno 2070, they both require that both steam and uplay be running to launch. I also for FC3 had to enter my game key one time into uplay.

You did not encounter any issues running FC3?

Ubisoft came with a new launcher similar to steam, for ubisoft games. You have to launch the games through Uplay. However when you buy a game from Steam, Ubisoft requires you to start the game in Steam, which then loads Uplay.

If you try to run Uplay without going through Steam, the games bought on Steam won't show up in your game library.

Here is the part of the Uplay Launcher log that seems to be the issue:

2013-01-18 18:33:56 [ 4008] ERROR inject_impl_steam.cpp (186) start injector relied on 3rd party hook but apparently it was not active
    2013-01-18 18:34:07 [ 1812] INFO GameKeeperImpl.cpp (236) Product id '101' all processes terminated
Yeah I'm at a loss here. You should check out the Ubisoft or steam forums for that error. You could also phone contact Ubisoft to see what they have to say. Make sure you give them the error code.

That said, is this a retail game, or otherwise?

BTW, there's a thread here discussing Far Cry 3 - Far Cry 3 discussion thread.. I posted a help request there, which is probably why Maguscreed posted here.

Not a one, though I was actually expecting too after seeing so many people complain, I myself was spared any issues.

I've had a support ticket / question up with Ubisoft support since last Friday, still not found any solution.

Don't hold your breath, even if you get a response, they will probably tell you to test the game on another computer or even another OS, like we have spare computers running around the house . Zeros to the left have more value than Ubisoft Tech support.

Your best bet is to go to Ubi forum, register and make a post... I am sure than between them and here, you will soon find your answer. Just thank your lucky stars you didn't buy Ghost Recon Future Soldier from UBI as well

Take a look, this is an old forum post about exactly the same issue as I got. No help from Ubisoft other than refering to the customer support.

As suggested earlier, have you looked to Steam?

Have you phoned Ubisoft? Ubisoft - International Support

I'm just putting out more options to help you get your issue fixed. As I tell my kids, the level of effort is determined by level of importance.

Sometime you have to look other places to find a solution.

I have not phoned ubisoft yet, I might try that.

Yes I made a support ticket for both Ubisoft and Steam last Friday.
Only difference is that Steam never answered theirs.
