DirectX problem in Warcraft 3 TFT

    Hello to everyone!

This is my problem: an old game, Warcraft 3 TFT, is not running in my current PC. When I try to run it, it always shows this message: "Warcraft III was unable to initialize DirectX. Please ensure you have DirectX 8.1 or newer installed and that you display drivers are current. DirectX may be found on your Warcraft III install CD under Options." I can run it smoothly in my previous PC with Windows XP SP3. I have 310.90 NVIDIA driver now and have DIrectX11 installed. I also install older DirectX (9.0 and 10) because that's the version my older PC have. I also try to run it in compatibility mode to Windows XP SP3 (the truth is, I tried it all but no luck). I will attach a picture of the error message.

P.S. I don't know if it will help but when I run Warcraft III using Garena, it ran smoothly. The only problem is, my Inventory A+ (if you don't know it, it is a small file which allows player to use the item skills faster using shortcut keys) does not work.

Please help me.. I'm not an expert on this but if you need anything, just ask me, and I'll give it to you to solve my problem. Thanks to all! :)

I would install the DirectX that you have on the CD, must people usually skip this part with older games thinking they already have the newest one in their OS but, it appears that each games uses a portion of that Directx for the game to start or play... it won't damage or hinder your newest Directx in any way so go ahead and try it.

    I would either:

1.- Reinstall the game again completely

    or

    2.- Install DX only.

    Good Luck

Thank you for the suggestion but I already did that. I already have problems in the past that solved by installing the included DirectX rather than the newest available in the Net.

But don't bother anymore because it is running now. I don't know why but I tried again the Compatibility mode setting to Windows XP SP3 and it worked. I will marked it as solved, anyway. Thanks for the help. SevenForums guys are all helpful even in the past! THANK YOU GUYS!
