Microsoft SW FF Wheel - Used to work, now Win 7 update screwed it.

My Microsft Sidewinder Force Feedback Steering Wheel used to work perfectly on Windows 7 Ultimate x64. Now the axis on the pedals is screwed up. One pedal works correctly and the other now registers on the steering wheel axis. The steering whell also registers on the pedal axis in one direction.

This used to work perfectly so the only thing I can think is that a certian update has 'upgraded' something but in the process has also broken something. There is nothing wrong with the pedals or wheel physically, just something has change to break it.

Anyone any ideas which update may have done this so I can go back or a fix for this?

    Many thanks

If you are 100% sure that is not a hardware problem within the wheel, the only suggestion is to uninstall the software for the wheel completely, go to safe mode, check there are no instances of the game within the registry or use Ccleaner to clean the registry.

Check for an update version of the wheel's software and install it again.

Could it be that Win7 added Generic drivers and all you need to do is update its drivers? perhaps you should check this first before you do the uninstall?

Sorry, shots in the air here as I have never used a wheel before.
