A game played on a 4k resolution monitor.
OK, a game with 4k resolution options.
To be honest I feel like todays card aren't all that powerful. I mean the Titan is meant for people with multi monitor we are talking 3 monitors running in a combined resolution of 5760 x 1200 at high settings a titan has a hard time maintaining FPS in the 30 - 40 fps range.
Results: Battlefield 3 : Benchmarking GeForce GTX Titan 6 GB: Fast, Quiet, Consistent
A single one of those bad boys can't even run Far Cry 3 at more than 30FPS.
Gamers are still waiting for smarter AI, being able to load more players or characters, high quality sound. The devil is in the details, I want to see great facial features and details but it has to be applied to everything. This is just looking at pure raw details, you can bet your ass that in the future games will go beyond just details which will require even more processing power. That is of course if we do not destroy ourselves, we have a long way to go as far as technology, science, medicine.
I agree with that but will add this: I would rather have a game that looks good but is an absolute blast to play, than a game with jaw-dropping graphics that is fun for 10 minutes. Sorry to say, that is where most games are today. Game developers lean too much on beauty, and content sometimes gets pushed to the back burner.
Your right that developers sometimes developers may spend too much time on making the perfect face or hand and that sometimes they forget about the actual gameplay. Let's face it we are always demanding more graphics, we are more likely to buy games that look beautiful than games with outdated blocks that looked like graphics from minecraft.
This is something that we did to ourselves, we can't have the luxury to buy any random game that may be ok, we buy blockbuster games that are A+ material.
Unfortunately, blockbuster games are hit or miss anymore.
Your correct, it's unfortunate that all it takes to make a game be a blockbuster is the amount of advertisement. Cinematic graphics, cool sounds and pictures is all it takes to convince the average everyday gamer of what game to get next.
True. A bit more "on topic", a game made and coded correctly, could have the most stunning graphics, physics and sound effects and not tax the hardware we had a few years ago. As it is, the games that are put out are poorly coded and inefficient.........and most are dumbed down because they are crappy console ports.
+1 to you sir! It would be nice to have a world where it wouldn't be profit driven. Developers would spend time perfecting their code, bugs, and glitches. One can dream can't it :)
