You know the very first thing i noticed about the new laura...her hair,i needs to know the shampoo she uses
On a serious note, the game looks beautiful, plays even better and i think it delivers what the creators wanted,im loving this.
Usually i dont even bother with games who have female protagonists but another good friend of mine suggested this game and i just recently bought crysis 3 which my PC couldnt handle so it was just wasting away and i was extremely bored,so i thought to myself, what the hell and im glad i tried it. Hunting is great,i would love to see a game like this in which you had to survive on an island like this, scavenging and hunting, climbing and killing, would be awesome!
but its really short,my friend finished it in 7 hours.

This was a very enjoyable game but it's not Tomb Raider, in this game the Tombs are optional and far too simple and repetitive to receive any sense of achievement when completed. By contrast previous games offered a series of elaborate environmental puzzles, where the player had to stand back and bit by bit work out how to connect the dots and progress through the game. What made the old games work for me was the amount of time that was consumed working out how to, for example; reach the dizzying heights of a structure and the great sense of achievement that used to come from reaching that goal.

The challenges are sadly lacking in this game, previous games would give you a number of elemental challenges revolving around a central chamber usually involving water, fire, electricity and the like. One example of this which combines the height and elemental challenges is St. Francis' Folly from TR1 or Anniversary

From Legend onward the games became easier but I always chose to play on hard so the game would give me less hints. Playing on hard in this game does not remove the hints but increases the amount of enemies and the number of times those enemies have to get shot before they die.

In this reboot the emphasis is on combat, it feels more like an online multiplayer shoot em up, especially in the shanty town, this was a part of the gameplay I literally hated.

The graphics are stunning in this game, I have 2 GTX680's running in SLI and could handle it on max, however it was prone to freezing and crashing, CD should've really sorted out the drivers with Nvidia before the games release.

In the next game I hope CD will give us back the elaborate conundrums that makes Tomb Raider what it is.

    Im pretty much in agreement.

I had been refusing to use the 'Survival Sense" it keeps prompting to me use as I had heard many say it gives away to much.
I used it it a couple times and it really does. It turns tomb raider into a "Follow the flashing light" shoot em up.

That and I miss the health packs. The auto regen seems cheap to me.
In previous TR games, if you didnt make a little effort to find some and the time came you needed them ... well you were just SoL.
It was up to you to heal yourself and find the supplies to do so.

Now you just hide behind a rock a few seconds and your healed.

I do like the new TombRaider though for what it is. I am having fun with it so long as I stay off the Survival Sense button. Thats gives far to much info IMHO.

    And it truly is beautiful.
But, I do hope they go back to the roots of the game though with core of the game focused on Exploration and Tomb Raiding.

The Survival mode is kinda useless to me the game is pretty much direct and if you have completed most of the skill set it is just natural motion

I shoot arrows at rocks and scale walls like i done it all before for me it's a stylish game lacking the hardness the original touted

I do say the visual amazment is breath taking and almost too real for words but damn this has got to be the fastest TombRaider in history im almost to the end of this and i been taking breaks !

Tweak your Game Settings Automatically | GeForce Experience | GeForce

Has anyone tried the above tool from Nvidia? It adjusts your games setting automatically to your card.

I just beat the game two nights ago and must say it was freakin amazing! Currently ~90% completion and hoping to 100% by the end of this week! I loved everything but the QTE's. Now I want to play the older games again.

I did notice a performance increase with the recent patch to the TressFX hair.

If you'd like to see my screenshots, I have most of them (except the recent end-game content) in this album: http://imgur.com/a/wbWHU#0

I bought this game from Amazon but it didn't come on time so thanks to Skidrow I got to play it anyway, however I'm sat patiently waiting for CD to release a patch that works and for Nvidia to release a driver that allows me to run it at full pelt so I can and play it all over again. When it comes to games Tomb Raider is my guilty pleasure and this game is awesome, but this game is no Tomb Raider.

I started playing TR in 1999 when I bought a 2nd hand chipped PS1, TR2 came with the console but I played more mainstream games at first, Resi Evil 2 had my mate and I hooked for ages, now and again I'd have a go on TR2 but for a while found it hard to control, one night I persevered and was hooked.

Sometimes the game was so bloody frustrating, I'd have to leave it for days at a time to calm down. I'd come back with a fresh outlook and generally solve the puzzles, the sense of achievement after solving the puzzles was so satisfying that sometimes I would play for days on end.

Now and again I'd go to bed for a few hours and have a cascade of images, blocks, puzzles and jumps buzzing around my head, I'd dream of solving the puzzle although it was never revealed to to me, but the sense of gratification was overwhelming. In those days the games used to take me months to complete, now they only take a few days, it's not because I'm used to it, although that may contribute a little but they are much easier now.

I think TR was a niche product and eluded mass appeal because of the difficulty in controlling Lara. Tomb Raider I believe has been dumbed down to make it "more accessible" to the casual gamer. In this new game I would really like to switch off all the hints and tips so I can be just left alone to make mistakes and die countless times so I can be frustrated all over again.

I've never got a buzz off playing a game Like I do with most of the TR games until I came across Portal 2 and Crysis, both of those just blew me away. Crysis 2 is good but has lost the essence of the first, 3 just seems like a different game altogether.
