Cannot get to play game

Bought Sniper Ghost Warrior a while ago and thought abouut time I did something with it. So loaded it in and installed etc etc and then I keep getting wretched message to sign in to steam or such rotten thing.

Now I bought this game and thought just load it and play and I am getting all this nonsense or have I missed something?? like having to login to play it. The last games I played were the flight sims and they just "worked" so am at a loss as to what to do.

Download the Steam client and then it will scan your hard drive and then you should be able to play the game. You have to create an account.

No mate doesn't matter what I try they are obviously out of the office or drunk cos I just keep getting the same old login stuff and no matter how much I try the stuff something sends me - I don't think it is a human - it just keeps repeating it is the wrong details and I have ended up with two sets of login details

If only there were an administration there I might get some where but at this rate it / they is / are a dead loss. But I suppose they have my money and thats all that matters eh??

Have you registed the game with steam? Also on my steam account I just keep it on auto login so I don't have to keep putting my password every time. Anyways if the game came with a activation key for steam you have to register it to the account. You click were it says games then click activate a product on steam and follow the directions to activate the key. Once it's registered it should come up as a retail key in your accounts list of licenses and subscributions. Steam should be able to scan for the games installation and give access now due to it knowing it is for that account. Now the game should be in your library of games in the steam client. I hope I'm helping some how, trying to not sound too confusing.

Yes I originally registered with them quite a while ago and while it recognises my old email address that I can still get I cannot get a new password or any sense out them for that matter.
I have tried contacting them but they are probably on the starship Enterprise have the shields up and it is pretty poor service if you ask me but I suppose I could create another email account and reregister unless they recognise the activation code of course.
But I am wondering if it is worth all this grief. I am just a bit ticked off because I don't expect to go buy a car and then ask the dealer for permission to drive it.
I just want to play a simple game when I have a few spare moments and something different . This steam stuff is BS - still like I say they have got my money so "caveat emptor" eh?

So looks like I might have to borrow my sons flight sims for a bit.

Yea steam is a form of drm it's to avoid piracy and sadly consumers have to deal with it. Though I've not had a issue with it but yea there support isn't the best and it being forum based also :| . Only once I had a issue which was with a ea game saying code invalid but they just told me to email ea. eh Anyways got it solved after registering it to orgin then my steam copy suddenly started working, must of been a issue with the activation.

Ah well mate there must be other games similar just that one sounded cool especially when you se thighs like this on Youtube

FYI. There's no need to download Steam for Steam based games because it's automatically installed if you don't already have it. In short if the game requires Steam, and you don't have it, it'll be installed, whether you want it or not.

At the OP, do you have any other Steam based games and are they working? If so, it could be an issue with the game.

I don't know sygnus I just flipped in the disk it went through whatever it had to and I ended up with a login screen. Tired again and it gave me a totally different login name (#3) and then sent e verification code via my old email address (lucky it worked this time) and typed in the username and the code the sent me and it has loaded.
What a performance!! and why didn't this happen the other day I was ready to trash the thing.

I ma now going to try and get the email address changed because the old one keeps crashing for whatever reason
