    bf3.exe fault

    Hi,

Coming up to two months ago I encountered a problem with my Battlefield 3 which has left me unable to play the game since. When I click to join a server on Battlelog the game manager pops up with 'Joining Server', but stays at 'Joining Server' forever (I left it for 20 minutes once and it was still stuck). I then monitored task manager when I clicked to join a server a second time, bf3.exe pops up for a few seconds (3-5) and then closes abruptly, leaving no crash/error message as you'd expect.

I searched many forums for help and there were many people with the same problem, but no fixes were suggested and EA/Dice moderators completely ignored the threads on Battlelog. I then contacted an EA advisor via their online chat, and have done so 6 times over the past two months. Every single time however, nothing fixed the problem for me, I tried everything they could suggest. They always then referred me to their EA tech support to speak to a specialist (an 0870 number), which I did so twice (I used saynoto0870.com to find the free, geographic number). Even the specialists couldn't help me fix it after trying a few more, complex fixes.

I had my problem narrowed down to three things:
    -An error with my computer
-My Internet (public network, currently living in private Uni accomodation)
    -EA

I got my mate to log on to my Origin account and launch BF3, which he did successfully. So it wasn't a problem on EA's part in regards to my account.

I've come home for Easter, now on a private network. I got my PC setup and woe is me it still didn't launch. So it wasn't a problem with my Uni Internet. The problem is with my computer... The way bf3.exe opens and then closes abruptly makes me think there is an application on my computer somehow blocking it from staying open. (Already tried disabling windows and AVG firewall, even uninstalled AVG altogether at one point) so I'm pretty sure it's not a firewall blocking it.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Can anyone help me in regards to finding/fixing what it is that's blocking bf3.exe?

Thanks for reading (sorry for the long post ), and any help would be very much appreciated.

    Kind regards,
    Jake

Do you have a firewall that may be blocking it?

Those are the only firewalls that are normally active on my computer
