It gives me a "please wait" then a few seconds later it highlights the ok button - I'll let it sit for a few minutes but I would think it would be quicker with this system I have.
Let me point out I did NOT load this - my husband did - and he made this much harder to load than it was.

Hmmm - that is weird. I suppose he may have used a custom .ISO that has things like games physically ripped out (and the corresponding Registry entries also ripped out) so that you cannot go back and add them in, even if you have the original .ISO....

It is the only thing I can think of....

Kate, I googled ' "Windows features on or off" blank ' and got the following:

The "Windows Features" dialog box is empty in Windows 7 or Windows Vista, or you receive an error message that includes the following code when you try to use Windows Update: "0x80073712"

Please note: I only read the introduction to make sure it is relevant, but not sure how complicated it gets or if it is actually works. (it deals to two separate issues in pone resolution). Let us know how it goes. Good luck! It looks long!

I've tried all the help on the site - either I need to call or we need to just wipe and start from scratch again. I spoke with my husband and he said that during all of the install the bios had the wrong time and he since corrected that. But as I was looking I've noticed that there are failed updates - so...I think I will wipe this and start again. Also - I think he installed Win XP 64 - then he installed Win 7 64 - this could be the cause of these problems.

Thanks for all of your help!

I can't find solitare in Windows 7 Pro

I just installed Windows 7 Professional, standard release. When I went looking for the standard windows card games, they are no where to be found. Did I miss something? Is there something else that I need to install in order to enjoy the traditional solitare, spider, freecell, etc games. Windows 7 is hard enough to get around, and now not even being able to relax with a game of solitare? What is the world coming to?

What do you mean it "refuses to complete this process?" Could you provide more detail, particularly when it refuses?
