Will Skyrim run fine on these specs?

Okay so i'll list the specs here:

AMD A6-3670K (Quad core) @ 2.7ghz with AMD Radeon HD 6530 (combined as it's an APU)

    8GB RAM 1333mhz

My hard drive is from WD and I ran a benchmark and it hit 144mbps so its fast enough I know that for sure.

So. I reckon I could run it on low but I'd like some reassurance...Also, I could run it on windows 7 or 8, I imagine it will run better on 8 but thats okay as its on Steam and my games are symlinked.

Bottom line is...Can I run it smoothly?

    Thanks in advance

It should run the game although you may have to lower some settings.

Yeah. It'll run fine, just don't expect to run on Ultra settings. It'll probably run Ultra, but it'll be a bit laggy and might crash if there is too much going on. You should be able to put most of the settings on High. Especially if you turn Shadows to low. Bethesda shadows don't look great on any setting, so it's not as much of a loss as you might think.

You're still better off than the console versions, so no worries.

You have a fairly low resolution monitor, which is good as things will run much better.

I have the same resolution monitor on my lounge PC and an A6-3650 APU, it surprised me actually as it played dirt 2 on high settings no problem at all, yours is a model up so I expect at your resolution it will play Skyrim on high settings just fine.

Yea should run pretty decent assuming it's not a really high resolution like say 1080 ect. If it's 1336x768 like in your sig then I say it should run fine with decent settings.

It works fine on medium-high settings ( some high some low c: ), obviously no AA or anything like that though. Thanks all.

You'll be able to run it at high settings with reasonable fps, especially with that low resolution. But to be honest, Skyrim was a terrible PC port, and is poorly optimized.

If you are experiencing random fps drops, try turning shadows off.

You can't turn Shadows off in Skyrim. They can only be set to low.

Well, you can turn them off in the ini settings, but it breaks the game engine if you do and will make it run crappy and crash more often. Turn them on low if you haven't already and you'll get a nice performance boost. Like I said earlier, it's not a huge loss as the shadows in Bethesda games have never been all that great even at the highest settings.
