Crysis 3 Extreme framerate loss

hey everyone,

Crysis 3 seems to SUCK at running on my PC which is a shame since I just bought it after reading the sys-reqs. Thought i'd be okay to play it but I guess not.

My specs:

AMD A6-3670K (NOT OVERCLOCKED) @2.7ghz
8gb DDR3 @ 1333mhz
2tb hdd @130mb/s

The graphics are built into the processor(its an APU) and I think that is the problem ): is there anyway I could perhaps improve performance just to make it playable? I get 15-20FPS right now and that certainly isn't playable.

The A6-3670k only uses integrated HD6530 graphics which isn't really a high end gaming GPU. I used to run an HD6670 in my backup rig with an A10-5800k and it really struggled to cope with Bioshock Infinite at just over medium settings and Crysis 3 is a much more demanding game.

You could try lowering graphics settings to give you better framerates for now, or alternatively you could add a dedicated GPU. Where did you read the recommended specs? If you look at minimum that's always the base level you would need to play the game, normally on very low settings. Even recommended specs may not offer top end gameplay.

Yeah. APUs aren't good for gaming at all. They suck a lot and you can't compare the two components that make up the CPU and GPU portions and expect them to match even the same two components individually. APUs are actually less powerful than the individual GPU and CPU they're composed of because the two components share resources that they would not as separate parts. An APU is about the worst possible GPU/CPU to have for a computer that is meant for gaming.

Turn down the settings and it will help. Crysis 3 is about as demanding as games get. I don't think there is anything that can be done besides turning down the in game settings. If you're already at the lowest settings and getting those framerates you should just accept that your hardware isn't good enough for Crysis 3 and replace the APU with an individual CPU and GPU instead.

APUs may be the 'future', but at the moment they are crap. A comparable GPU and CPU will outperform an APU made from the same two components easily.

I never go for the Minimum Recommend Settings as those are the biggest skims/scams ever... always go for the Recommended

Recommended System Operating Requirements for PC

• Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
• DirectX 11 graphics card with 1GB Video RAM
• Quad core CPU
• 4GB Memory

Example 1 (Nvidia/Intel):
• Nvidia GTX 560
• Intel Core i3-530

Example 2 (AMD):
• AMD Radeon HD5870
• AMD Phenom II X2 565

And for Gaming, you always have to go with a dedicated PCIe GPU... APU's are for youtube or flash games.
