    BF2 and PunkBuster

I have recently installed the 64bit version of Win7 which I received through "House Party." Here's my issue, when I used the 32 bit version and after updating PB, the game was working great. Now after updating PB on the 64 bit version I'm getting kicked out before I even select my spawn point. I did a clean install, I have updated all of my drivers or at least those that are Win7/Vista compatible. I'm at a loss, and I really don't want to go back to the 32 bit version.

for anyone else with pb problems, you need to manually download and install (as admin) the punkbuster services, using pbsvc

then you have to update for your specific game using pbsetup

    happy gaming! :)

Except in the case of BF:H
WHICH if I recall recent events is STILL unsupportive of Win7 (the losers)

It was working, for a minute. The kick message was RunPB.exe fail. Which I took as PB never getting installed. So I uninstalled, ran ccleaner, rebooted and tried installing again. In which I got several failed attempts at installing and two BSOD's!!
At this time I now have BF2 installed, but when trying to patch to 1.41 I get "patching failed" error.
When looking at the services.msc Punk Buster doesn't even show up....

I wouldn't even bother with the 1.41 patch use the 1.5. I would head to evenbalances website and run the installer from there with admin rights. That way its the newest version.

Thanks, will try patching to 1.5. Although I thought you had to patch to 1.41 first? Guess I'll find out! Thanks for the tip.

Nope, have to have 1.41 installed first,

Planet Battlefield - Maps, News, Battlefield 2, Videos, Downloads

To install Battlefield 2 Update v1.50 you must have Battlefield 2 updated to version 1.41 or Battlefield 2 Complete Collection
Might be a good idea to uninstall BF2 completely (registry and all) and start over. Instructions on how to uninstall here,

Uninstalling and reinstalling, will post results. Is the 64bit version really worth all this trouble to get my arse pwned!?
