He already said no an i5 won't work in your motherboard. Your motherboard will support an Intel Core2 Quad processor with an LGA775 socket type.

ok if u want to buy a GPU, you are going to have to buy 4 things...
1) RAM (if yours does not fit in the new mobo or is not supported) 2) MOBO 3) CPU 4) PSU if ur not OCing and dpnt plan on it, an i5 @3.2 GHz (base clock) quad core should be enough. idealy u want i5 3570k if budget allows. for the mobo, get a mobo of GOOD quality that supports LGA2011 socket for 3rd gen i5 sandy bridge for the gpu, get what ever one u can afford. (gtx 760, R9 280x, 7950, gtx 660, etc) for the PSU u should get a 500W minium. I would look at the Corsair CX500 |
