Thought I’d repost this link again.... TweakGuides.com - Fallout 3 Tweak Guide

For those having performance issues you might give it a try.

    As a reminder...

Please take a moment to read through the How To Ask For Help guide.

I see a lot of posts, especially from "newbies" asking for help without providing basic information. First off, we can’t help if we don’t know what the problem is; and we can’t figure out the problem without such basic information as systems specs and a clear understanding of what the problem is. It’s the lack of these two basic things that causes posts to be ignored or incorrectly diagnosed!
Also, from the Tips on Troubleshooting Game Issues

Ok, first off we can’t help if you don’t supply the most basic of information – systems specs. The importance of this can’t be overstated since game performance is highly dependent on your hardware. Please see this tutorial on filling out system specs as well as my How To Ask For Help guide.
If you're not willing to give us the basic info discussed above, don't expect us to play guessing games with your post!

As stated many times before.... read through the thread... you might find your solution. If not, tell us what you tried!!!

Simply saying you tried everying in the thread will simply get you a quick "I'm sorry but I/we have no further suggestions to give" answer.

    Please help us help you!

    Peace

...I wish I never played Fallout3 before so I could start now. Great game, almost as Oblivion or Morrowind

i start downloaded fallout 3. it took about a half hour
i started it up and it worked fine- it went to the center screen window. i pressed play and it went to the slideshow..yadda yadda i clicked new game. it went back to slideshow and then it goes back to the desktop and says fallout 3 has stopped working...windows is checking for a solution...this was about 3 months ago ive been researching what to do... most of what i found where somthing about "compatability settings". when i followed the directions i coulnt find crap.

Don't know your system specs? use this... Speccy - System Information - Free Download

How to post system specs.... https://www.sevenforums.com/general-d...html#post23230

Trying to troubleshoot your issue without system specs is like trying to troubleshoot a car without knowing what engine it has. We can't help till we know what you have.

This is why.... check out Fallout 3's system requirements,

Now, a word about Minimum Vs Recommended system specs for games. Most gamers are aware that in order to get the best possible performance out of a game they need to "exceed" the "Recommended" requirements of said game. Notice I said "exceed the Recommended". Check out Fallout 3's System requirements. Really??? I think we can all agree that Minimum means barely plays at the lowest settings. Honestly….Don’t expect too much out of today’s games using "Minimum" System Requirements. My opinion :)
Again, if you have not, I would HIGHLY urge you to read my Tips on Troubleshooting Game Issues as it is highly informative.

    Peace
