Runs fine for me too, great game but I like Far Cry 2 better. :)

    FalloutLauncher complains about DVD

I managed to install it and updated to 1.7, but falloutlauncher.exe complains about my *ORIGINAL* DVD not being correct. I tried to run it with and without administrator and on various compatibility settings from Windows XP SP2 to Vista SP2. Any ideas?

Well, even with 1.7 and new nVidia drivers, I still get the 'Fallout 3 has stopped working' error regularly.
Frankly, this has become silly. How long has this been now? 6-7 months?

the Gamebryo engine hates everyone, almost. games made with it are notorious for crashes, and lock ups. (oblivion, fallout3)
does it present any error message, and if possible, could you post it?

your system specs indicate that your rig is very well capable to run the game. though i have had the opposite luck when i comes to fallout on windows 7. it crashes ALL THE F@*#ING time on XP (for me anyway). F3 has crashed maybe 2x on my 7 system. (weird huh?)

try googling the error code (if any), hopefully there is a fix for you. somewhere.

i would like the game a lot more if i could sort out my creative alchemy settings for my x-fi extreme gamer.

i'm currently using buffers=4 and duration=10 but still get lots of random crashes, especially when going through doors or travelling via map. very very annoying when it's such a great game.

i had to play through the whole game without using V.A.T.S, because every time it would go KkkkkFFFFFKkkkkjzt and crash. the sound issue fix, was to buy a pair of usb headphones. a little redonkulous, being that the xtreme gamer was made for games.
im not sure whos at fault on that one, creative, or Bethesda..

like i said though. 7 fixed all that junk ... somehow ... for me *shrugs*

    Fallout 3 is amazing.

And I've had a few freezing/crashing issues in 7, but no more than I did in XP or Vista.

I have to skip every in-game video because of a instant crash, but everything else is very stable...
