What resolution are you trying to run the game in? Also as has been said a few times you might want to visits Bethesda's web site seeing how they are the experts on the game. Troubleshooting Tips - Bethesda Softworks Forums

One other thing, and I hate to say this... have a look at the SecuROM FAQ page - https://support.securom.com/pop_fallout3.html and follow the guides there as well.

Don't know why this area wasn't brought up before

    I just re-installed FO3 (non-GOTYE) + DLC and I haven't had an issue.

So I'm sorry to say, it does sound like a potential h/ware issue at this stage.
I won't necessarily say that, it could be software, maybe SecuROM. At any rate I too suffer no issues, but... (that's me)

Unfortunately for others, there is an issue.

With so many people having the same issue? I think it is software compatibility.

Sorry to say but some of you just don't provide enough information about your problem so people here can help you.

Saying you are no noob in computer world doesn't help at all. If you expect a little bit of help you have to provide informations about your system, OS, hardware, driver versions, etc.

We need to know more about what you installed, for Fallout, what version, GOTY or other, Patch level, etc.

    Besides,
you install GOTY version and it crash and you install non-GOTY version with DLC pack and it works than it is DEFINETELY NOT an hardware problem...! I probably not understand the comment but that's what happen when you reply with no context in your post.

OK, I've tried the GOTYE and non-GOTY and both have an issue when entering or being in enclosed places, such as the Museum of history. Figure that one out. Purchased through Steam, running in XP compat mode, Aero off.

What kind of issue? Computer freeze, crash to windows, black screen?

Do you have the latest patch, 1.7?

When you crash, go to the event viewer in the application section and have a look if you have an error message from Fallout.

Or do you have any messages appearing on the screen?

What king of computer do you have?, Video Card? Graphics details, high or low and is the VSync turned on or off?

    Installation Error's

    Hey Guy's!

I have some trouble during the F3 installation. If I try to install F3 the first error occures at installing the "Fallout 3 Mashes.bsa" (or sth like that^^) Other .bsa-files seem to be damaged, too. The installer tells me, that the installing bsa-file doesn't match the bsa-file from installation-source directory.
So i thought my disc may be damaged. --> I tried a nother one --> still the same problem! I already tried to install in Win Vista Compatibility-Mode but the errors still occure...
Maybe this Problem already appears in this thread anywhere, but pls forgive me, i dont wated to waste hourse with reading the whole 38 pages.
At least I want to excuse for my grammar and stuff. english is not my mother toung. but i think you'll understand me anyway ;-)

the simple fact is most issues with gaming come down to either drivers not being up to date, or your hardware can't handle it. once those two have been cleared out we can look into other issues with many games especially bethseda games that frequently bring users here if your running any mods it's important that we know which mods you are using, that alone can break the game. the more information we have about your system and what the problem is the quicker we can give you a solution and the quicker you can get to playing.
