    laptop lags every couple of seconds, need help


    Hi, my name is dan, i have had this laptop for two years and for the last year i havent really been able to play games properly because it lags. I play league of legends and day z as well as fable 3
    honestly i dont know much about computers and i wish i did so i could fix this
    i play with the lowest settings always and im not sure if it is graphics or if it is just the computer in general
    i reformatted it and it didnt fix it.
    I ran a virus check and defragged it and still doesnt seem to work
    ill list the stats i know
    otherwise i need help finding them
    Processor: intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2410M CPU@ 2.30 GHz
    Installed Ram: 6.0 GB

    oh, also, when it does lag i can still use the mouse, it isnt only in game, it is when i do anything... like my skype every couple of minutes says (not responding) for like 5 seconds then it is fine, or my browser(chrome) does the same thing

    You may be have malware. Here are some steps to remove it!


    1. Install Malwarebytes - Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware download

    2. Update to latest database

    3. Run a scan


    Report the results here :)

    By lag I take it you mean when you play online? if so, the culprit could easily be your internet or your ping is high because you are trying to play on a far away server... ie: You are in the US but you are playing on a server in Russia.

    You could download an app called CPU-Z, when you run it, it will tell you all you need to know about your computer.

    I doubt drivers are the culprit but, if you have never updated them, this would be a great time to do so... video and audio as well. Once you run CPUZ we can help you further.

    nope its not internet, it does it even offline sadly, so i dont know how to fix it
    im checking the maleware thing now

    Are you running the latest drivers for your graphics card? It could easily be bad GPU performance.
