Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut

For those interested in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the director's cut has been released.

    What's different?

    Improved Flow

First you must understand that the Missing Link DLC and original game were treated as separate games in your steam library. However director cut combines them both into a single game so that it has better flow and feels more natural with the story. Generally, you could have missed the point where it was "logical" to play the DLC since its at a specific point in the story.

Multiple Games Displaying Instead of Merge in Steam Library

You will end up having 3 games in total because of this (assuming you have Deus Ex Human Revolution and the DLC before buying director cut.) It will display in your library with (Deus Ex Human Revolution, Deus Ex Human Revolution Director Cut, Deus Ex Human Revolution: Missing Link)

    Price Discount on Steam

They will also slash the price of it from 20 to 10 if you own original game. If you own DLC on top of that it goes from 10 to 5 dollars.

    Features

The Director's Cut has the following new features...
    1. New game+ (Only Augmentations carry over)
    2. Improved Textures
    3. Reworked Bosses
    4. 45 Minute Documentary
    5. Around 8 hours of commentary from Eidos Montreal
    6. Can have two energy cell recharge by default on all but the hardest difficulty
    7. Players can now use Jensen’s augmentation powers more freely

    Reworked Bosses

Now remember that the reworked bosses is incredibly important for this DLC and the main selling point for many fans. The reason the Deus Ex Human Revolution bosses were unfaithful to the original source was that the game itself was outsourced to another company to create the boss battles so it didn't really follow as close to the other work done on the game as it should have. Leading to the bosses being more like a generic FPS instead of having multiple viable options based on how you developed your character.

Note the Steam Discount: If you already have DE: HR and The Missing Link DLC, the Directors Cut is just 5 bucks; otherwise 19 buck for the complete game - which now includes the Missing Link DLC.

Anyway I thought I'd post for any fans of the game.

    Peace

Hmm 5 bucks. Might be something worth looking at.

Players can now use Jensen’s augmentation powers more freely
I hope that means you don't have to be so economical in usage because one issue I did have with the game was that some of the best augmentations were under utilised since you could never power the bloody things.

Don't know. Be aware that that you have to start a new game when playing the director's cut. I will say the game starts out a bit differently and there's obviously a lot more story content and fill-ins. As I said in the other post, even though this is my third go around, I feel like I'm playing a new game because I don't know what coming around the corner now with the added story lines.

I'll also share that some of the added content/story comes from cut scenes, though some could be actual game play. I'll just hint that the director's cut doesn't start the way the original did.

Anyway I'm just starting so I've no way of knowing how it progresses from the original now; and bear in mind the Missing Link is now incorporated so it'll be interesting to see how it flows it into the game. I know where is should flow, but how is going to be interesting.

It'll only cost you five bucks if you've got the DLC as well.

I'm still in the area where you had to rescue the hostages. Anyway I'm calling it a night for mow. Besides It's going to be slow going here as I'm working on my new website, plus I'm still taking classes. I just figured I'd take a game break and ran into the new update to Deus Ex: HR.

Anyway hope you guys like it.

    Later.

Starting new is no problem. i only recently finished and basically only started the Missing link content. I'd prefer the ML to be played as it was originally intended.

Got into this game, but never finished it. Looking forward to this cut as the reasons I stopped playing are addressed by this cut. Plus, it was $5, totally worth it.

In addition to the expanded story there are definitely some subtle play changes; additionally there are also some new gear items. So yeah, the upgrade to the director's cut is definitely worth it.

    FYI

FYI, make sure you read your logs/pocket secretaries. I'm finding that if you don't actually read them by pressing tab immediately after getting them, or pressing tab, logs, access codes won't register when attempting to hack computers.

I've found that I've been hacking some computers that I actually had the code for; that by not reading the pocket secretaries, those codes didn't register. Kind of makes sense - you don't know what you have unless you read

Anyway I don't remember this being that way before, I think they auto registered once you picked up the secretaries, but I could be wrong. I could check with the old game but... At any rate read
