Verify this package exist and that you can access it or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package. \cod4MW.}

It would be great if some 1 can short out this problem, I am really dying to play this game.

@frostmourne

Yes, these are ofcourse obvious but this just happens to be the thing with Cod2, DX9 seems to be in the list for Vista and 7 there and it really helps to get more of the game atleast with older cards and hardware. Maybe the backward compatibility doesnīt work as well. This just happens to be the case, donīt know why. and iīm not surprised, main thing is that it works which is nice and getīs some beliefs for Microsoft back again from my part.

@warfare

I donīt mean to update the dx11 or dx10 or whatever the default is in Win7, and it continues to be even if you add dx9 to it.

Also someone says to try to plug Microphone in..as silly as it sounds. :-P

Also now the Firewall settings or "software" that you are using? Is your installation totally new or from another partition (from old installation)

@ rajput441 Have you tried installing on another OS or something? to exclude another possibilities away (Broken DVD) or something...

And you have tried singleplayer and it works? Itīs only when you press join the game.

Also iīm still lacking the information if you can see the servers listed ingame? Try to join server where is no punkbuster. etc.. Thereīs also problems with that.

Try to be as informative as possible, thanks.

Single player works perfectly, no problems.
I can see all the servers, I can not join any server. No matter if it has punkbuster or not.

I can click join server then once it gets to the screen where you pick your team the game locks up, turns green, then Crashes to desktop.

I can't be more descriptive then that, because that is all that happens. I've tried reinstalling, re-patching, and all of the above.

I have the same problem with 1 core running COD2. I set the affinity to all and it works great. Next time I go in game I have to reset. So, don't feel alone. Hope someone figures out a fix.

Get Prio tasksaver to save all settings. It now saves things you have done in taskmanager.
