Beeping Sound + Lag?

Ever since I installed Windows 7 a few days ago, I'll be playing Team Fortress 2 for a few minutes, and suddenly I'll get random beeping sounds and spurts of lag.

Any ideas?

This did not happen in Vista.

Can you pinpoint the source of the beeps? It might be the MOBO throwing an error code (overheating could cause this)

How might I do that? And why would I be overheating? It wasn't a problem before.

Is there some sort of shortcut I could be pressing around the keys I use to play? The sound and lag, when I get it, seems to occur much more when I push the 'w' key to move forward and will stop if i stand still [and I think] move side to side.

This would have to be something new with Windows 7 because I haven't had the problem before.

You might have the "sticky keys" turned on and this is enabled by pressing the shift key a few times in a row. I wish I was at my Win7 machine to tell you where in Control Panel to find it, I hope someone will post the area of it before i get home if not I will when I get there.

I had similar problems with the beeping and the lag and it was an overheating problem when I was playing a game like CoD4 for an extended period of time...a noticed a small amount of dust on my case fan intake/outtake and on the fans for my video card that was easily cleaned with some compressed air and have never had the problem since with continued periodical cleanings

It might be...if he is pressing shift with those keys...

Never hurts to find out...
Control Panel->Ease of Access->Ease of Access Center->Make the keyboard easier to use->Uncheck Sticky Keys

Well I've found that if I stop moving and tap shift one time it stops.

I have no idea what's causing it.
