The funny thing is I used to be really good behind the wheel but it's mainly concentration these days (or lack of it that lets me down.

having a retired engineer for a dad has its perks!

may dad has decided to build me a racing seat frame thingy for my logitech g27 with a tv mounted at the end.

mainly as its a but of a fafd to disconnect the wheel everytime I want to play a non racing game.
Lucky indeed. I'm not that great at building stuff so I had to buy a cockpit. Bloody worth it though. One of the best "boys toys" I've bought for myself. It makes a huge difference in the fun levels.

What size TV are you attaching?

Although if it's possible, add your double screens or even save up for a third screen and make the move permanently to the man cave :)

My dads TV died a week ago so I gave him my 40" cockpit TV so I had to setup my triple screens around my cockpit. Holy hell it makes an awesome game even more awesome

If he can, make sure your dad includes a decent mouse/KB stand in the frame.

now I just have to build myself another gaming pc to attach to the racing frame as its being located in my man cave I.e the garrage lol
I'm lucky that my man cave is also my lounge room :)

I currently only have a 26" monitor to attach to my frame. I thought if I mounted it close enough to my face it wouldn't look too bad!
I thought about going triple set up, but then id have to buy a new set for my gaming rig in the house.
im doing my sim pc on a budget, mainly to see what I can achieve without having to lesson the amount of beer I can drink in the pub this week.
im thinking amd fx 6300, generic mobo, 8gb ram and a 7870 or 750ti as a starter.
already have a case, psu and hard drives so for just over £200 I can get something quite capable of 1080p racing.

its not exactly pretty but its solid as a rock and the best we could achieve with the little metal I could scrounge from work, just needs a lick of paint and the tv mounting.

Not a bad way to go.

The damn disconnecting Wheel bug is back after the latest Update

By the time I finally got a MP server spot, I got through three corners in practice before the wheel disconnected and I was forced to quit and restart.

It happens in SP as well. I hate re-introduced bugs

I have to admit I have totally lost interest in this game now. I know it's an early access game but it really did my head in when they decided to mess with the controller settings.

I tried the multiplayer the other night, I sat waiting for quite some time to join a game and gave up in the end.

I have Forza 5 which has been keeping me busy, yeah it's not a full on sim but it's good fun, it works properly and it's nice to have leaderboards for each class and track. I am slowly working my way up them all trimming a little time off here and there and the choice of cars is out of this world. Just a shame they didn't release it for PC.

Next car game I am really looking forward to is Project CARS which is due on all formats around November iirc. It looks very promising.

If it wasn't for the fact that the xbone doesn't support my wheel, I most likely wouldn't have touched AC to begin with. I've been playing forza since the original and I love the series. My setup was originally built around Forza 4 and I was keen as mustard for Forza 5 until the lack of support discovery. I was so annoyed that I decided to forgo the xbone entirely. I may grab a PS4 when GT7 comes out if it supports my wheel, otherwise I'm basically a PC only user again.

I can see why you've switched to Forza. I really enjoy the arcade/sim blend of it's gameplay. And project CARS does look worth a look for sure.

Although I still am enjoying AC. I'll be playing it for a long time yet.

If you ever get your hands on a wheel Paul, it's definitely worth coming back to.
