Lots of different kind of errors seem to come up with CS:S

My problem is that when I load CS:S it starts up normally but when I enter the game I get like a second of normal gameplay in the background, but then everything freezes. It's so quick that i don't even time to choose a team. The weird thing is, that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I've had win7 for a couple weeks now, and it's just been doing it for the past couple of days. After it timeouts, I have a hard time getting the game to even connect back to the server.

I've tryed to disable/enable firewall back and forth and booted cable box and machine and tryed updating all drivers and rolling them back and forth.

Oh and one more thing. I just bought 4gigs more ram, but that was a week ago and Source was working fine after that.. So I really don't know what it could be..

having similar problems, except it freezes during the "loading".
I can still kill the app by alt tab.

Try running the Steam client with Administrator rights.
This should give CS:S admin rights too and see if you still have problems.

I noticed that I had some problems with steam myself but once I updated my video and sound drivers they went away. Try these two things and let us know how it went.

tried that as well, but didnt fix the problem.
btw, driver update doesnt work for me, as Im using the latest version

wiggling around the settings, found that by using "-safe" launch option.
then you set your stuff manually. I really recommend you to use the same resolution and frecuency you're using in windows.

You can try forcing the resolution using some launch options

-width 640 height 480 or -width 1680 height 1050

FYI Guys: The automatic crashing to desktop is caused by drivers (99% by graphics card), I found uninstalling and reinstalling or reinstalling an older driver solved the problem

Im starting to wonder if its a problem with running dual video cards and the software to sync them. Is there any way you can remove one video card and run the system and see if you get CS:S to run if it does then there is something wrong with the software and drivers syncing the two cards.
