Eh I hate anything with subscriptions, never play anything with subscriptions. Another reseaon I switch to pc like 4 years ago since I don't like paying monthly payements like you had to with the xbox, that and it being superior in almost every aspect to be honest. I don't think those type of games are worth it ever.

Just finished Batman Arkham Origins today and it was an epic journey and I really enjoyed the story and the gameplay but I must admit that the game is still plagued with some bugs like "NPC's suddenly getting stucked in objects or walls few times" due to which you have reload your check point as you cannot continue any further from the spot coz you have to secure the place first in order to proceed from the location and had a crash to desktop once other than that the game is fantastic and yes you have to get used to the fighting style in Origins coz if you're locked on the grounded target and there's another goon behind you who is about to drop a punch so you won't be able to counter his move! there was another bug I encountered yesterday where I was falling through the surface going under invisible water and climbing back on the building I tried several times and it happened on ground surface only like streets not buildings but other than these annoying bugs the story was compelling and there's still some of the side missions left to do.

Now I have started Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag and boy I must say the Graphics are amazing! The game feels heavy but I'm able to Maxed out everything and set the PhysX on Low which was on low by default and turned on the TXAA 4x, HBAO+ and forced the Adaptive V-Sync through the NV CP and the game performs quit well

Generally so do I. But I like the Elder Scrolls series a lot and figured it was time try at least one MMO. It's my exception to the rule.

I was surprised to see the system requirements too for Watch Dogs and I'm guessing that well it's probably a more CPU intensive title than a GPU. Well it does make sense if we see the calculations going around in the city overall. I guess that even an i5 would do just fine and the game does have NVidia eye-candy effects which seems pretty nice to me and I think my system will be able to handle it well too on my native 1440x900 another good thing that Nvidia released the Beta DX11 Wonder Drivers to put some load of the CPU to gain performance so we may see improvement in games like AC4 and of course Watch Dogs when the WHQL certified drivers will be out which should simply eliminate the i7 thingy back to the an i5.

I wonder if they actually utilize all the cores in the system cpu properly, I mean most games are still being optimized for dual core and quad. A lot of games do not fully support all the benefits of quad core yet, so when I saw them stating they want a 8 core processor I was shocked. I triple checked to make sure they didn't mean threads.

Yup you're right.. in fact many games are optimized for a tricore processor due to previous gen consoles and developers are so lazy that they hardly optimize the game for the PC in order to utilize all cores by balance and instead what we used to or even still get a bad port. The is a good website www.dsogaming.com where you can see that guy having performance analysis for the PC version of the games on a Quad-Core processor and he gives an in-depth analysis of many titles. I personally think that still an 8-Core processor for a game sounds outrageously stupid and doesn't even require all the cores to run the game better. I blame the hardware of previous generation of game consoles i.e. PS3 and mainly XBOX 360 due to which many game developers have become somewhat lazy and greedy coz they just wanted to make money rather than delivering polished and properly optimized titles for the PC gamers community. Thanks to X86 architecture of the new PS4 and XBOX One where now developers will be a little more active in making and optimizing the PC version of the games and I hope we will not be suffering like before.

What I'm really excited about is how Rocksteady/WB Games has made a very good decision by ditching the up coming Batman Arkham Knight for PS3 and XBOX 360 and going to release it on only PC, XBOX One and PS4 and a great statement they gave that they actually want make this final installment of Batman game only for the Next-Gen regardless of cutting down and optimizing it for the previous gen consoles. I also hope that Watch Dogs will turn out to be really good as it is a very anticipated title right now!

Picked up a couple of inexpensive "casual" games (less than $6US total).

Tiny Bang Story -- This is a puzzle game with very little replay value since the puzzles are the same each time it is played. However, I think that when I complete the game I'll be able to come back to it in a month or so and will have forgotten some of the trickier parts. I got it yesterday and I've already sunk 6 hours into it. At only $1.24 it costs less than a 20 oz. soda.

T.E.C. 3001 -- You play a robot that runs...with thumping, throbbing music...and beautiful, minimalist visuals. You run and run and run, and jump, and slide, and dash, and pick up batteries. Did I mention that you run? I like this game a lot, even though I'm not very good at it. I'm sure that I'll get better over time. I haven't put much time in this one since I got tied up in Tiny Bang Story, but I intend to get better at it. It's well worth the $3.99.

The Tiny Bang Story is solely mouse driven and works equally well on a PC or Mac (I've tried both). It does not require a high spec machine to run smoothly.

T.E.C. 3001 can be played with a mouse and keyboard (mouse is used for menus only) or a game controller and runs on a PC or Mac. I've played it on both PC and Mac...it worked flawlessly on the PC with an Xbox 360 controller, had a problem with the controller on the Mac in that the game didn't respond to the buttons but recognized the analog stick. The controller setup software showed that the controller was working fine. The game worked fine on the Mac using the keyboard.

Well...that turned into a mini-review. Oh well, can't be helped. Anyhow, these two games run just fine on my HTPC (Pentium Dual Core, Radeon HD 7750) so I can sit in my recliner and play them on a 52 inch screen and crank the music on T.E.C. 3001 if I so desire.

I finally got around to starting Metro 2033 last week, I've had Last Light since it came out but wanted to complete 2033 before I got my teeth into it. I've got to say I really don't like it, it seems 'messy' for want of a better word and it just feels like there's no real flow to the game. I'm hoping Last Light is a lot better as 2033 just doesn't do it for me.

Having said that I'm wondering how much spending over a year almost exclusively playing Battlefield titles has affected my perception of other FPS games. FarCry 3 really sucked me in though, I thought that was an immense game and I enjoyed it thoroughly, slightly less so with Bioshock Infinite, so maybe 2033 really was below par?

I'm toying with the idea of starting Call of Juarez: Gunslinger next, either that or Tomb Raider.
