I ended up pre-ordering Watchdogs last night on a whim. Downloading now. It'll be interesting to see if I can run this in surround Ultra @60fps or if it's a drop to single screen job...
Be sure to grab the new Nvidia drivers for it Patrick, I read it can improve performance "upto" 75% in SLI for Watchdogs.

I did mate and they haven't. In fact both of my GPUs only run at half speed with these drivers. it might be worth checking your GPU clock speed when running this Paul.

    I regret buying this now.

First I had no sound. Workaround involved losing 5.1 and dropping back to 2ch.
The game crashed twice in 15 mins of gameplay.
Surround/Eyefinity support is a joke. The FOV is so zoomed it's unplayable.
Maybe its because of the half speed GPU, but performance is woeful. Stutter/drop city.

    This thing needs patching badly.

Dam, sorry to hear that mate. Not really had any of those issues myself. Not had a crash or anything.

Was curious why the differing views so I took a quick look here: How Well Does Watch Dogs Run On your PC? and I see the game is very demanding, even with a high end card. The game seems to also needs a strong CPU....

Even with the Ultra detail preset enabled, which you'd think would shift the workload toward graphics, a strong host processor is surprisingly critical. While the Core i3-3220 and FX-4170 only mustered a 24 FPS minimum, the FX-6300 almost hit 30. The FX-8350 and Core i5-3550 managed a more tolerable 37-88 FPS, and Intel's Core i7-3960X lead by not dropping under 51 FPS
It may be that Paul's hexa-core i7-4930 is helping out a lot here

BTW Paul, have you checked to see if 5.1 sound is broken? Just curious.

From some reports, it looks like sli/cf makes the game run worse. Higher frame rate but a shedload more stutter and dips. Will try it later on a single card. Could go a long way in explaining the difference between my and Paul's experience. Especially if sli causes the half speed clock rate. That would certainly cause stuttering and dips.

It may not solely be down to CPU although 6 native cores vs 4 should naturally perform better.

Others have claimed that 5.1 is working. But while it runs @ 48khz non Dolby digital live for me, it won't play audio in 5.1 with ddl enabled. Some reports say that 44khz /16 bits work, but my card is 48khz/96khz only.

Sound has been an inherent issue of the dunia (far cry 2/3) engine and the anvilnext (assassins creed series). Since the disrupt engine used by watchdogs is largely a mix of the two, and both engines had the 44khz issue fixed, it's mind boggling that the fix wasn't incorporated into disrupt.

That's interesting, about the SLI/Crossfire issues and the game. The other is the sound, but for me, 1) I don't have to game, and 2), even if I did, I don't use surround sound anyway so I would never know if I had an issue because not only have I never used it, I don't even have a multi speaker system setup on my PC.

Anyway I've got nothing else to add since as I said, I don't have the game.

Outside of that do hope all is well with you.

    Drew.

I can't comment on the sound as my speakers are nothing special.

But regarding the game itself, my mate Ryan on here (Ganjiry) has SLI 2x 780s and an i7 4770k and I don't think he is having those kind of problems. He is just playing off a single screen like myself though.

We both get a bit of jumping when driving the cars, it kind of holds up for a second here and there but I believe that's as the game loads a new area each time. I get the same in all the GTA games and Saints row and sleeping dogs which are all similar types of game.
But as far as frame rates go mine seems to be holding above 50FPS and usually 55-60. I have Vsync on so it may go higher at some points. I will have to test with it off.

Yup the only problems I have is the stuttering while driving, I did test with V-sync off, 1frame and 2frame but it didn't run as well as without V-sync, it stuttered more just while walking. I did have to update from driver 331.82 to the newest set as it was unplayable due to the screen flicker.

Yesterday the Uplay servers were having trouble as the launcher was taking for ever(10-20min) to even load up fully and twice it just froze while in game causing the game to crash. I've also read that the Uplay servers have been having trouble so it may just be that that is causing the crashing.

A friend was telling me he'd read about the very poor scaling with multi card set-up's but I've not tested the difference between a single and multi cards myself. Apparently going from a single gpu to 2 will only gain you a couple more fps. I'll give it a go later and see what difference it makes my end.

Been playing Borderlands 2 (single player) and have suddenly become bored to death with it. I'll say 75 percent of the game is mainly fetch and get and that gets tiresome after awhile. I did paly Borderlands 1 single player all the way through and enjoyed it, but suddenly BL2 is boring me. I don't know, maybe I need to find a different game. Might play Dragon Age again.
