have you seen the Recommended system requirements for the new version of AC? Assassin's Creed Unity PC System Requirements Leaked - GTX 680 Listed as Minimum GPU, GTX 780 as Recommended

And recommended for the new COD coming out the first of the month? Pre-purchase Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare on Steam

More so when all we are getting (or the majority of the titles we get) are Console Ports... I don't understand

Take Watch Dogs as a prime example recommending an i7. My rig runs it with no problem at all. I just see it as most of the major developers these days are partnered with hardware company or another and are just trying to scaremonger people into buying new hardware.

Or maybe I'm just being super cynical.

I recall before BF3 was released and the recommended specs. Many people were wondering whether they would be capable of playing it and were frantically upgrading their systems for it. When it was released, most systems well below the recommended specs were playing it just fine. Sometimes I think the hardware vendors are the ones who make the specs up. If you look at the recommended specs of the new AC game, they would be cutting out 80% or more of their potential customers if those were, in fact, the specs that were needed to run the game. If we are to believe them, we should be buying a 5960X and 2 980's in preparation for next year's games releases.
