Games For Windows Live, Sign In Issue.

    I dont mess with Firewalls.
    I run through a router.

I always disable any Firewall setting I see.

I play Street Fighter IV online with Games for windows live.

Ive never had any issues connecting.

I reset the bios on my motherboard, just by pulling out the battery.
(Which im really not sure that this caused the issue).

But now when I try and connect to games for windows live, from inside Street Fighter IV,
    I get a
""This profile could not be signed into live. There may be a network problem or the windows live ID service may not be available.

this is day two or three with the issue.

I looked through my bios, to look for any onboard Net card options.
and any that I see are enabled, because I plug my network cable into my motherboards plug in.

I log into Wow, or on the internet fine, with no issues.

but at the same time.. now when I log onto mozilla foxfire, for the first 2 days, when I would visit some sites like google or facebook, I would see a "this site may not be trusted" type of message.

    they were not fishing sites.
I see absolutely no other small oddities like spyware, etc etc.
Ive been building PCs for 10 years. Ive reformatted windows over half a dozen times in the years, get easy rid of spyware that snuck past.

I havent had to deal with any lately.

    Any ideas?

the generic topics in the troubleshoot section didnt lead me anywhere.

    im running WIN XP btw.
Just downgraded from Win 7. Xbox 1 controllers are not supported by microsoft windows natrually.. player fans had to hack thier own copy, because microsoft didnt feel like taking 20 minutes to do it. and the fan made xbox 1 controller drivers are not compatable with win7.

annnd the 360 controller DPAD is inferior on SFIV.

    So failboat.

I have problems too. When i´m playing Resident Evil 5, my partnet(already in the game) is shut down! In about 5 minutes of play..the connection is lost. I dont know how. Should Be the Windows Firewall or mey NOD32 Antivirus. But i dont know how to config.

It would obviously take a lot longer then 20 minutes..

Anyways, it seems to be a common problem across all 3 main Windows Operating System (XP, Vista, 7) with several games that access Live.

I can still not sign into Halo 2 at all. :|

is this a new recent problem ? or an old issue thats been around forever?
ive been playing SF4 for at least 4 -5 months, not a single issue.
    ever.

now all the sudden, i reset my bios one day.

and it gives me the profile could not sign in message.

Ive gone through my bios and tripple checked all my on board net options and enabled. im pretty sure that couldnt be it.

my mozilla foxfire gives me some sort of new "make an exception" message for security, sometimes now, also.

    wtf. ?
i reinstalled windows last night. that didnt fix it.

ive installed windows 3 or 4 times in the last year, and I never have to mess with net settings , other than installing the driver, and disabling the default windows firewall.

Ive even opened all the ports that I could find for sf4 and windowslive.

    neither work.
