As a Campaign Gamer, CoD 4 (or MW1 ) was the most annoying of them all, and not because it was the most run and gun or the hardest or bad storyline. No, on the contrary, it was the best Campaign (or the longest which for a Campaign Gamer there is nothing better than a loooong Campaign) but the annoying part was that in the hardest level, some parts of some missions became just horrible to enjoy and/or play, moving on and passing some choke points was like adding alcohol in a wound, no matter where you went, where you hide, bullets and grenades would find you and you would get dead time and time again... to me that is just poor and lazy ass programming and nothing to do with the character being good or bad.
It kind of reminded me of Ghost:Future Soldier and UBI trying to please and bamboozle people into believing they could make the game tactical by removing the Interactive Camo on the Hardest Level they gave us after a patch (can't remember which) but they forgot to reprogram all of the actions and choke points so you ended up not being able to use the camo and always fighting instead of being able to do Recon or just moving past the choke point w/o being seen if that is what you wanted to do
Gornot, I am one of those guys who plays the game and don't really pay attention to names or soundtracks, matter of fact, I usually have the sound (tracks) very low volume so I can hear the voices and ambient more, sometimes Expansion Packs confuse me but now that we have gotten straight which one is CoD 4 (MW1) than I can comment a little better
Was never able to get around the ergonomics of the game in 007 so after some time I quit playing it... can really comment on it.
007 was ultimate badassery (yes, it's a word) :P
Also, I wouldn't agree that COD4 had the longest campaign, i'm pretty sure COD2 was MUCH longer... But maybe that's just me because we actually had three separate campaigns xD lol
Perhaps it just felt longer because I died two million nine thousand and fiddy seven hundred times in CoD 4
Yep. The game we really want is just not going to be made unfortunately.
When you're young, you can easily overlook the short comings, but after time goes by, it just becomes a drag.
I've also become accustomed, by like yourself it still does bother me. I'll still play them, but the level of 'fun" just isn't the same any more. You shouldn't be playing a game and thinking "if only they did this, or if only they did that". I really miss those "wow that's cool" moments.
And therein lies the conundrum of the whole thing doesn't it? I gotta say that I have modified my behavior and I don't let those moments bother me so much and I just take what I can from the game... I just figured that if the Greedy Publishers give the Devs a little more time, perhaps they would insert those missing pieces... and here I go again
