    hl.exe -nomaster -game cstrike
    Start explorer.exe

    save as name : cstrike.bat

    Hi folks,

    the main problem of this thread seems to be directly connected with the OpenGL which is set as the default renderer.

    Solution:
    1. run the game with "-soft" parameter;
    2. go to "Options", "Video" and set the renderer to "D3D";
    3. quit the game and remove the "-soft" parameter.
    This way (thanks to "MrBalupalupe") the problem can be easily solved even without running the game in the compatibility mode, or aforementioned batch file.
