GTA San Andreas not working, patched, unpatched, clean

GTA san andreas doesn't seem to be working. v1.00, on win7 ultimate x86, with latest nvidia driver release as of now. the game installs fine, but once it gets past the intital video intro, the game will crash. tried turning UAC off, compat mode, run as admin, et cetera. quite irritating considering it seems as if it worked with earlier versions of win7.

Have you installed it into its default directory?

mmm no, hold on giving that a shot. i was under the impression that the 1.00 was the one you wanted to hold onto, 'cause most mods work with it.

GTA:SA runs too fast on my PC, no matter how weird it may seem. Even with the frame limiter on the game just runs waaaaay too fast. And I also have the buggy mouse issue, which some of you may have heard of. Interesting thing is that on my old PC (Windows 7 7100 x86) the game ran just fine, but on my new one (Windows 7 7600 X64) I get all these errors and stuff. The power of my computer might also be a problem because older games can't run perfectly on newer PC's. So if I turn off two of my cores and underclock the GPU, do you think that I have any chances of running the game fine?

that's actually a known issue by rockstar; isn't unique to win7. Rockstar Games Help - Game runs twice the normal speed
may i inquire as to which version of gta: sa you're running, and if you had to fiddle with compatibility settings to get it to work? i'm starting to think it's a driver issue with nvidia.

Now for the serious part, have you had any mouse issues? And also I have tried various patches/fixes etc. ,but with no avail.
