What's your impression about the combat play? I'm not too impressed.

here Corsair are very expensive but Kingston HyperX Fury 8gb stick costs $80
Corsair Ram is overpriced. Not worth the premium.

I don't love it, but I don't hate it either. I wasn't too impressed at first, but as I started getting new skills it got better (it grew on me)
I use the tactical pause/and play strategy mostly. Except for battle I know I'll easily win.

--The HyperX Fury Ive been seeing alot of good stuff about.
Many have said that while some of the Corasair Vengance is technically faster, it's not enough to matter much even in benchmarks. No hands on with it, but what Ive seen looks like its a winner at the price point.

Anyone notice excessively long load times when starting the game?

I have 2 SSD drives in my system but prefer to keep all my games on my 2TB Western Digital Caviar Black HD. That said, none of the games I have come near to taking so long to load as DA:I

How long are the load times?

Im playing on PS4 so it's may not be a good comparison. But, just in case in the nature of the game..
When switching zones I'll get the screen with the cards. It stays up for 30-45 seconds maybe? Im not sure but not long enough to read most of them. Then it'll go to a blank screen with just the load icon in the bottom right and stay there 45 seconds or so .. maybe a minute then I'm in game.

So, a minute to a minute and a half give or take.

The smaller transitions, like in the keep going to War Table or fast travel aren't very long. Maybe 30 seconds or so.

I could be off so I'll get a accurate later tonight when I play again.

I wouldn't think you WD Black would be the issue. All my games are opn my WD Black drives and the difference between it and the SSD is so small its not worth the space on the SSD IMHO. Except for a few open world games that constantly stream world data, but DA doesn't seem to do so that much.

Thanks Jessie; Those times sound about right, but it may be slightly longer, especially the load times when starting the game. That said, even 30-45 seconds seems excessive in these days.

And no, my WD drive is good, and no other games take that long to load.

Outside the long load times, performance wise the game seems to be running very well on my system all maxed out. Still think the game play and combat could be improved. Example: sometimes when you tell your party to hold and they will automatically start attacking a foe when you don't want that.

I miss where you could click your mouse and point it somewhere and your party member will move to that spot. Yes, this can be done in camera mode, but in DA 2, you could do it without pausing or putting the game in camera mode as well.

Yea, it's not perfect. And I have ran into a few bugs.

Just curious if this one is on PC as well.
Sometimes I'll enter into a conversation and choose a response and everything just freezes. The characters just stare at me and no prompt to do anything.
I can skip through and sometimes getting it moving again but miss a portion of the conversation. Other times I just close the game and try again.

I noticed its some choices that cause it too. For example, in Haven near the start there was a conversation with Cassandra. I can not remember the exact details, and do not want to say anything that could be a spoiler, but suffice to say the options I chose resulted in a conversation freeze.
She just stared at me. I restarted the game several times and could repeat it each time.

Finally, I choose a different response at the point it froze and everything worked as it should.

It hasn't happened often, but has 2 or 3 times so far.

I had one instance where Cullen was hovering about 1 ft off the ground. Reloading the area fixed it and I never seen it happen again.

Overall, I love the game though. Some things, like Cullen hovering, were 1 time things and not a big deal. But I do hope the fix the conversation freeze that happens on occasion.

You're going to a lot more time than that if you plan on doing as much content as possible.
If thats all the time you have, and plan on doing all the content .. LOL. You might see a 1/4 to a 1/3 of what the game has to offer..

Im 50hrs or so in, and about 32% complete.

    Its massive.
